RIGHTS UNDER THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS ACT THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS ACT is
the Federal law which guarantees our rights to organize for the
purposes of Collective Bargaining. The National Labor Relations
Board is a part of the Department of Justice. SECTION SEVEN of the National
Labor Relations Act describes those things organizing bodies have the
RIGHT to do. You have
the right to support a union and to
organize. You can talk about and sign cards on your breaks, and
before or after your shift. NEVER while on the job,
actually doing what you are paid to do, so not in the pit, or on your
game. SECTION EIGHT of the
National Labor Relations Act describes those things management is
NOT ALLOWED to do. No one can harass, threaten,
coerce,
intimidate, fire , lay you off, or discriminate against you in any way
for supporting a union or organizing a union. Management has
absolutely NO RIGHT to know or inquire about who supports a
union, who
signed a card, or even how you feel on the subject one way or
the other. |
